Kassim Osgood, Woman Held at Gunpoint

Former Chargers' wide receiver Kassim Osgood and a woman friend were held at gun point while watching tv, apparently with the woman ex-boyfriend.

Kassim was at the home of Mackenzie Rae Putnal, when her ex-boyfriend walked into the house weilding a gun with a plastic bag covering his face. Putnal eventually ran downstairs to her parents home and grabbed a gun then exchanged gunfire with the ex-boyfriend while Kassim jumped out of a second story window and ran to the neighbor to call the cops.

Kassim escaped with minor bruises, and the ex-boyfriend was arrested for aggravated battery, false imprisonment, armed robbery, burglary and violation of an injunction.

Chargers are plagued with injuries this early in the season...

The Chargers continue to deal with injuries this early in the season.

It's reported that linebacker Larry English will miss 4 weeks with a foot injury, leaving the team with only four healthy linebackers as Shawne Merriman is also dealing with a calf injury. Antwan Applewhite will start at outside linebacker this coming Sunday if Merriman is unable to play.

The Chargers are also dealing with injuries in the running game, offensive line and at long snapper. Ryan Mathews will probably back this Sunday's game again Arizona but right tackle Louis Vasquez is expected to miss at least two weeks; long snapper David Binn is out for the season and Ryan Neill is also out for the season, who replaced Binn as the long snapper.

Another tough loss in Seattle..

Really...this slow start thing is getting pretty old. What is going on in training camp? I thought what training camp was suppose to do was to get players ready to play. This team have got one of the easiest schedule in the the league. What looked like to be a 6-0 start before the season is now 1-2. Can anyone please tell me what's going on.

A day when Philip Rivers threw a career-best and franchise record 455 yards passing and we still loss. Something got to change here. This game just looked bad no matter how you look at it. Sure the passing game was good, but the offense also made some key mistakes. The turnovers did not really hurt them because the Seahawks didn't come away with points over them. But the key penalties hurt them bad, kept them from scoring especially late in the game.

The defense, I thought played well. As for the special team, YOU GUYS SUCK. The kickoff coverage were just non-existent, something has got to change in this part of the team. This is the second game that the special teams have loss. Fix it and get someone else to do a job that others are not doing. That's it, I'm  done.

GO CHARGERS....

Marcus McNeil is back...

YEAH...so happy when I found out today that Marcus McNeil have finally sign his tender. He'll miss Weeks 3-5 and be back on Week 6 against St. Louis. Should give him enough time to get ready.

Really so excited to see him get back in there and see what Ryan Mathews can do with one of the premier lineman blocking for him. Not to take anything away from Brandyn Dombrowski because I thought that he did a great job replacing the big guy, but McNeil is one of the best in the position.

Great job, happy times for Chargers' fans like myself. GO CHARGERS....

Chargers, took frustration out on the Jags...

After being frustrated on the disappointing loss to the Chief's last week, the Chargers clearly took their frustrations out on the Jaguars by beating them in a blowout passion, 38-13.

The Chargers forced the Jags in to 6 turnovers, including cornerback Antoine Cason's two interceptions and a forced fumble. The defense played well allowing only 13 points in the games.

Beside the two interceptions, Philip Rivers had a pretty good day at the office. Spreading the ball around to different receivers, was 22 for 29 with 334 yards and 3 touchdowns. This is the 15th 300-yard game of his career. Antonio Gate caught two touchdowns passes, giving him 62 for his career. Mike Tolbert has a good day with 82-yards in 16 careers after replacing Ryan Mathews, who came out of the game with a sprained ankle.

Great job all-around for this Chargers team. Let's keep it going Super Chargers...on to Seattle against the Seahawks.

Chargers Home Opener, Blacked-Out

The Chargers say the home opener against Jacksonville this Sunday will be blacked out. First time since November of 2004 against the New Orleans ending 48 straight sellouts. The NFL says that other games are in danger of being blacked out. One other for sure is the Raiders' game against the Rams.

The Chargers are also saying that their next home game is also in danger of being blacked out. With the economy like it is, I guess you can't blame people for not being able to afford to go to the games. For a couple to go to a game, you pretty much are looking to spend right around $250.

Well, we were planning on staying home and have a BBQ during the game. But the plan has just changed, going to the game and taking the BBQ with us, no missing the home opener. GO CHARGERS!!

Chargers Lost to the Chiefs?

So disappointed and still in shocked from that lost last night. I really thought that it was going to be an ass kickin after we scored that first TD, but I was wrong.

The special team just stunk it up with coverage. If it wasn't for the Scifres tackle, it would have been worst. Our defense didn't play well either, particularly against the run, giving up some BIG plays. As for the offense, well, Philip didn't throw the ball well, the receivers missed some catches, running game was okay.
Anyways, I think that a lot of the problem with the offense had to do with the rain & wind. But the special teams play, was no excuse, they were terrible.

And what is up with the media interviewing Matt Cassel after the game, it's not like he did anything. The guy was 10 out of 22 for only 68 yards. The Chiefs didn't beat us, we beat ourselves, once again. And what is up with 9:15 pm starting time? That was stupid...

Okay I'm done whining, I guess we just have to wait till next weeks. Only this time, no excuses because it doesn't rain in San Diego. GO CHARGERS!!!

Trevor - First To 600 Saves

Congratulations to Trevor Hoffman for his 600th save.

They showed the highlights while I was watching the Padre game and also later on ESPN. How exciting, I remember all those time he broke milestone with the Padres. Very happy for Trevor, he is one of the greatest to ever put on a Padre uniform and a class act all around.

Congratulations again, Trevor. You will always be a Padre to us fans.

(I know, this is a suppose to be a Charger site, but could not help myself...)

The Chargers sign an OT...

The San Diego Chargers sign veteran offensive tackle Adam Terry. The 6-foot-8, 335 pound offensive tackle was cut by Indy last week and was on injured reserved last year with the Ravens. He could play a role as a backup as the Chargers prepare to go into the season without Marcus McNeill.

Chargers acquire Patrick Crayton from Dallas

Looks like the Chargers made another indication that they are moving on without VJ by acquiring veteran wide receiver Patrick Crayton from the Cowboys. The Chargers with only owe Dallas a sixth-round pick if he catches 40 or more passes this season.

Patrick Crayton will be a veteran presence in this talented but young receiving crew. Pretty goode move by the San Diego Chargers.
